Video Surveillance Systems employ the latest camera technology to monitor entry and exit points in and around the workplace. Recording information is now stored on computer hard drives instead of video tapes and can be easily retrieved from any authorized computer on the client network or even through the internet. Remote monitoring can be easily accomplished with web server type cameras as well.

Systems can now be designed to have a single guard at one location monitoring several facilities from one point on one computer monitor. On a large scale, hundreds of independent client sites can transmit video images to a "video central station" where a central monitoring control center can answer to alarm conditions in the building or monitor after hours access. These systems can be coupled with two way IP audio to allow control center individuals to hold two-way conversations with individuals over the clients network. The convergence to IP video is now dominating the video surveillance industry with many analog systems being converted to an IP solution with video management software.
